17th Street Businesses
Dear 17th Street Business Owner:
The 3rd Annual 17th Street Festival is right around the corner, and we are once again excited to showcase the 17th Street Corridor and more importantly the businesses! We are hoping that all of you will get involved and enjoy the excitement.
Our event is scheduled for Saturday, September 22nd from 12:00-6:00PM on 17th Street between Riggs Place NW and P Street NW. We expect significant attendance (10,000+ people) and are hoping that your business will participate by offering specials that day in conjunction with our event. Last year a couple businesses moved out onto their patios or sidewalks to really engaged individuals. This is simply just a thought and you are obviously free to be as creative as you want. Once again, Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets has generously offered to provide a free banner for any business that is running a special to hang out front. Applications for banners can be filled out below.
This event will include musical performances throughout the afternoon, artist vendors, a pet zone, a kids zone, auction tent, exposure for non-profit groups and appearances by city officials to celebrate the 17th Street Corridor.
As part of this event we plan to highlight our 17th Street businesses and market our unique community and all it has to offer. Additionally, sponsorship opportunities are available which will help to offset costs for this event, which is expected to continue as a popular annual event. It includes but is not limited to logo placement on banners, marketing/PR though the media. All 17th Street businesses receive any of the sponsorship levels at a 50% discount. If you work with any companies or vendors that would be interested in sponsoring your restaurant or this event, please feel free to pass on this information.
All proceeds and donations from this event will help to further revitalize the beauty of our streetscape, including flowers in tree boxes and light post banners highlighting our local groups and organizations. Additional funds will go the festival and future events on 17th Street. Donations are considered tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
