On August 8, 2010 HSEMA approved an application for a special event along 17th Street from Riggs Place to P Street. While this was thrilling, we had a zero budget. In less than 8 weeks we were able to raise over $8,400. Thanks to an additional $8,000 grant from HSEMA for our community event, we were able to pull it off.

On September 25 more than 5,000 people descended upon 17th Street to celebrate the completion of the newly renovated Streetscape. It was a wonderful event that was a collaboration of many.
